My Covid God Story: Chronology Chapter

Image
Yes, you read it correctly - my Covid God story.  The state where I reside in recorded 5,007 new Covid-19 cases on 20th Feb 2022. And  I  (unfortunately)  was one of them. 😅 What happened?  Well, I think I need to start the story from Wednesday morning (16th Feb 2022), where  I woke up from a strange dream. In my dream, I was in a shopping mall kinda place. And I had lost my son, Daniel.  The first scene I remembered from my dream was me going up this escalator, frantically looking for my child whom I have accidentally lost while we were walking around the mall.  The next scene was me walking towards the cinema section of the mall, only to find that the glass doors were locked (due to Covid restrictions) and I had to turn back and exit the other way round. As I turned back, I told two of my sisters in Christ who were with me looking for Daniel (yes, they had appeared in my dream out of nowhere 😂) that the entrance was closed and we needed to head to the other escalator. We exchanged

In the Kingdom of God: I am of a Royal Priesthood - Part 1

Image
I dare say that 1 Pet 2:9 is a Bible verse that, although it may not be as popular as other scripture verses, it is a verse that every Christian has surely heard of (at least once) in their Christian journey.   But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; Here, Peter tells us that we, who are God's special people, are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.  I wrote previously about our identity as kings unto God in Christ  here , where the apostle John tells us in Rev 5:10 that Jesus has made us kings and priests to our God .  So, today I would like to take a look at being a priest, in Christ, unto God. And not just any priest, but a royal priest.  The funny thing about priesthood is that the world tends to have a mystical view about 'priests'. 😂 Source: Internet Is this what you picture when I say that you are a

In the Kingdom of God: I am a King

Image
What? I am a king? What do you mean by that? (I can hear you asking in your mind.😅) Before you got all excited and (perhaps) confused, I would like to share a few verses from the Bible.  Rev 1:5-6 T o Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. Rev 5:9-10 And they sang a new song, saying:  “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.” Source: Internet So, what are we? Why, we are kings. We are priests. You (and I) have been made a king and a priest.  Who made us kings and priests? Jesus.  For whom (or unto whom) have we been made king and priest? Unto God.  Having clarified this truth about our identity as a king, i t is good for us to see the roles/ du

In the Kingdom of God: I am a saint

Image
If you google the word 'saint', it will tell you the definition of saint - 'a person acknowledged as holy or virtuous and regarded in Christian faith as being in heaven after death'. When someone mentioned the word 'saint' to you, I am confident these words will come to your mind: holy, pious, good.  And if you are a Catholic or are familiar with the religion, then the names of some Catholic saints may come to mind as well, like Saint Peter, Saint Thomas, Saint Patrick, Saint Dominic.  In fact, in the town where I am from, there are many schools and churches named after saints. So, even before I came to accept Christ, I had a vague idea of what a 'saint' is, namely saints are those who are in the Christian religion and who did great and mighty things for the religion. And because they have reached a certain status or level, they were given the title of 'saint'.  (May not be accurate but I wasn't entirely clueless 😂).  I believe there are man

In the Kingdom of God: I am klētos eklektos (Part 2)

Image
I wrote previously that in Christ, I am klÄ“tos (called) eklektos (chosen/ elect). You can read the post  here .  You know, whenever I think of these 2 words, 'called' and 'chosen', I don't know about you, but this verse always come to my mind - 'For many are called, but few chosen'. (Matt 20:16 and Matt 22:14).  Now, to be completely honest, for a long time, I couldn't quite fully grasp what Jesus meant by this saying, that many are called but few are chosen .  I won't pretend to be able to interpret this correctly either but I've come to glimpse a revelation in this ' klÄ“tos eklektos' business.  Firstly, we will need to do some reading.  Parable of the Wicked Vinedressers (Matt 21:33-44)  Parable of the Wedding Feast (Matt 22:1-14)  Parable of the Great Supper (Luke 14:15-24) Try to read the Parable of the Wedding Feast in the context of the Parable of the Wicked Vinedressers, as in read about the wicked vinedressers and try to understa

In the Kingdom of God: I am klētos eklektos (Part 1)

OK, I know you must be wondering what is this  klÄ“tos eklektos?  Now, h ere's what the words mean:  klÄ“tos = called;  eklektos = chosen.  So, in essence, I am saying that in Christ, in the kingdom of God, I am called and I am chosen.  As I mentioned earlier, I am on a bible study journey with a group of brothers and sisters, delving deeper into our identity in Christ. And today, I would like to look at this aspect of our identity: elect of God in Christ.  The Greek word  translated as 'elect',  eklektos, is also sometimes translated as 'chosen' as well in the Scripture. So, eklektos = chosen = elect.  Before we go further, I would like to first draw a comparison between the secular election and the biblical election.  1) What are we being elected for? You know, when one thinks of the word 'elect', to the secular world, the first thing that usually comes to mind is 'election', especially in the political sense, right?  What is an election then? It is
